Texas produces more hydrogen than any other state, enough to fuel over two million cars and trucks. However, interest and awareness has waned somewhat in recent years, at a time when informed decision making is particularly needed.
More than 130 new hydrogen applications are coming to Texas in 2009, including fuel cell forklifts and cell phone towers for back up power. In the DFW area, 30 forklifts will be deployed at a Dallas area warehouse. In Austin, a fuel cell bus and hydrogen fueling station are in operation.
State and local leaders seek accurate, relevant information for energy choices. As a large energy-based state, Texas particularly needs a fundamental understanding of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. This is crucial to meeting our energy and environmental goals. Hydrogen 101 provides a basic overview of hydrogen and fuel cells for policy and other professionals.
Workshop Agenda:
- Texas Hydrogen Projects
- Hydrogen Basics
- Fuel Cell Fundamentals and Status
- Codes and Regulations
- Hydrogen Infrastructure – Production/Fueling
- Discussion and Networking
