Nature Fest 2009 at the Trinity River Audubon Center
Connecting people to nature through art, exploration, and sustainable living
Time: Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Trinity River Audubon Center’s first annual Nature Fest is a two-day family festival celebrating the art of nature, sustainable living, and the great outdoors. We will also be celebrating the TRAC’s first anniversary with entertainment by a variety of local bands, dancers, and storytellers. Features include educational booths and a juried art show and sale.
Get outside: watch a birds of prey demonstration; learn about camping and hiking; introduction to kayaking; introduction to birding; yoga; tai chi; nature encounters with Texas wildlife; snakes and turtles; wildlife rehabilitation; picnics; local damselflies and dragonflies; meet your animal neighbors.
Living green: attend workshops on composting, recycling, water conservation, and energy conservation; learn about native plants and wildscaping; explore the Center’s sustainable features; backyard poultry; urban bee keeping.
Nature play: children will build a bird nest; meet Texas wildlife; go on scavenger hunts; enjoy puppet shows and storytelling; and create nature art.
Special activities include a juried art show and sale, nature focused exhibitors, music and Aztec dancers, and nature store specials.
